Microsoft Wireless Controller for Xbox Series X|S NOT WORKING

This is a black Xbox controller for the Xbox series x that is in like new condition but does not work. I have no idea what happened to the controller, it came with my brand new Xbox series x from Microsoft and it just suddenly stopped turning on, never dropped it or did anything bad to it. I’m sure this is an easy fix, I’d assume it had something to do with the batteries.
